1. The Eco Tube weighs 1.7 grams while the push-up tube weighs 7.15 grams. This is less than 24% of the weight, and less than 24% of the carbon footprint.
2. The Eco Tubes are made in the USA, not transported from China, halfway around the world with even more carbon footprint.
3. The Eco Tube contains no PVA plastic adhesive which makes it non-toxic and fully home-compostable. (all push-ups contain polyvinyl acetate – plastic – adhesive)
4. The paper push-up tubes have a fill size of .3 oz which is twice the size of conventional lip balms that customers may not want to pay extra for. The Eco Tubes have a fill size of .21 ounces.
5. Women or men with long fingernails or anyone with average finger thickness can operate the Eco Tube easily, but the push-up tube can be challenging.
6. The Eco Tube is more leak-resistant, even if melted in a hot car or shipped in the high heat of summer. Just leave the package upright with the cap on, and when it cools, your balm is ready to use again
7. The Eco Tubes accept self-adhesive labels
8. The Eco Tube’s exterior is grease resistant, while the brown push-up tubes will soil much easier since they are dry paper.
9. There is a good chance that if you’re not specific with a Chinese supplier of lip balm push-up tubes, the artwork may be printed on a plastic/paper and not be compostable. Buyer beware.
10. The Eco Tubes are made with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) paper, while Chinese-made paper push-up lip balm tubes are likely to contain illegally harvested rainforest wood.
11. Many complain that with the push-up tubes, the lip balm retreats back into the tube during application unless you keep applying pressure to the disk inside the tube. This is no issue with our squeeze tube technology on the Eco Tube.
Our patented double-barrel design offers superior product protection and resists leaks. We have had a number of customers who tried their semi-sold / anhydrous product in regular paper jars, and found that after a few weeks, their products were leaking through the paper. Our Eco Jars are specifically made to hold semi-solid/anhydrous oil-based products. Our sister compnay Organic Essence (Orgess.com) has been packaging our shea-based products in our own Eco Jars for nearly ten years, and we have not run into leakage issues at the retail level.
1. The IMPACT Canister weighs 33 grams. The same-sized plastic jars weigh approximately 28 grams which is almost the same. Glass weighs over 140 grams plus additional shipping materials. Compared to glass, the Impact Canister weighs less than 25%, with lower outbound shipping costs, no breakage and lighter environmental footprint.
2. The IMPACT Canister has more than 70% additional surface area to display your brand’s messaging than typical glass or plastic supplement packaging without unnecessary greenwashing additional external packaging.
3. Glass supplement jars usually have plastic lids, very rarely do they come with metal caps.
4. Glass jars need to be shipped with added padding/protection to avoid breakage which adds to the shipping cost and environmental damage.
5. The IMPACT Canister won’t break if you drop it like glass can, and potentially leach toxins into the environment like plastic supplement jars can.
6. You can let your customers know that you are using the most eco-friendly alternative to plastic or glass jars.
7. Plastic supplement pouches are made of plastic #4 from sugarcane and other plant-based materials. While this packaging may seem environmentally friendly, these bio plastics can be considered as destructive to the environment as other plastics. You can read more about bioplastics on this page: here The IMPACT Canister uses a very small amount of plastic when manufacturing.
